Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in the United States to lead design and integration of complex electrical systems and PCBs from concept through production release.

You will drive architecture and verification across multiple projects, mentor engineers, and collaborate with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 7+ years of professional electrical engineering experience is required.
• Experience designing and integrating complex electrical systems and PCBs.
• Strong background with high-power and high-speed circuit design.
• Experience with system-level electrical architecture including power distribution, grounding, isolation, and signal integrity.
• Expertise performing electrical design trade-off analyses involving power, thermal constraints, battery performance, cost, and component selection.
• Experience leading verification and validation efforts including EMC/EMI, environmental, safety, and power delivery testing.
• Proven experience troubleshooting complex electrical issues through root cause analysis.
• Ability to review and approve electrical design deliverables including schematics, PCB layouts, wiring harnesses, and testing documentation.
• Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership across cross-functional teams.
• Experience evaluating emerging technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience developing prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions.
• Background working in highly regulated industries with stringent compliance requirements.
• Experience leading innovation initiatives and technology scouting efforts.
• Experience developing reusable engineering tools, frameworks, and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and integration of complex electrical systems and PCBs from concept through production release.
• Establish technical direction and engineering standards for electrical systems within the team or product domain.
• Architect system-level electrical topologies including power distribution, grounding strategies, isolation techniques, and signal integrity requirements.
• Perform critical engineering trade-off analyses and communicate recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Oversee electrical system verification and validation testing including EMC, environmental, safety, and power delivery testing.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes, and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot complex hardware and electrical issues encountered during development and field testing.
• Review and approve electrical schematics, PCB layouts, wiring harnesses, specifications, and test protocols.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and product teams to ensure successful product delivery.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers while promoting engineering excellence and best practices.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and assess applicability to future products and platforms.
• Develop prototypes and innovative solutions that address unmet customer and business needs.
• Drive alignment across teams while making high-impact technical decisions for complex systems and products.
