Job summary

Terradepth is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in subsea robotics to own the end-to-end electrical architecture and execution of autonomous underwater systems. You will lead the design, prototyping, testing, and production of integrated hardware including power systems, embedded electronics, sensing, communications, and control interfaces.

This hands-on role requires hands-on development from schematic through PCB layout, system integration, and field validation in harsh marine

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in electrical subsystem design for robotics, aerospace, automotive, or high-reliability platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of power electronics, harness design, and PCBA layout; proficiency with CAD/CAE tools (e.g., Altium).
• Experience with embedded systems, sensor integration, and underwater communication protocols; familiarity with marine/subsea environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and own electrical subsystems, including power generation, storage, conversion, distribution, and protection.
• Integrate COTS components and develop custom PCBA layouts, harnesses, and connectors for power electronics and sensing.
• Develop control interfaces for thrusters and motion components; integrate various sensors for AUV data gathering.
• Perform FMEA on electrical designs and manage vendor relationships for PCB fabrication and assembly.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across disciplines to ensure aligned, robust designs.
