Job summary

Lunar Outpost is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Colorado to lead end-to-end electrical hardware development for spaceflight and lunar surface systems. You’ll capture schematics, lay out boards, bring up hardware, and verify designs across power, digital, analog, and high-speed interfaces, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced startup.

You’ll design mixed-signal circuits, manage power regulation, and support interfaces like SpaceWire, PCIe, and Ethernet.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years developing electrical hardware for aerospace or safety-critical systems.
• Hands-on design with schematic capture and signal-integrity aware layout.
• Strong analog and digital circuit design, including power regulation.
• Experience with SPI, I2C, UART, RS-422/485, CAN, Ethernet, USB, SpaceWire.
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up, and verification on development and spaceflight hardware.
• Design, simulate, and review mixed-signal circuits with digital logic, analog interfaces, sensing, control, and on-board power conversion.
• Design board-level power circuitry, including DC/DC converters, power distribution, sequencing, and protection.
• Support high-speed electrical designs (LVDS, Ethernet, SpaceWire, PCIe) with signal integrity focus.
• Assist with cable harness design and documentation.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, software, harnessing, and systems engineering for robust integration.
• Support component selection for spaceflight environments and maintain ECAD library.
• Participate in test campaigns: functional, environmental, EMI/EMC, and system-level testing.
