Job summary

Karman Space & Defense seeks an Electrical Engineer III in Mukilteo, WA to lead the design, development, testing, and production of advanced electronic systems for spaceflight hardware.

You will integrate electrical and mechanical systems, guide product development through architecture reviews, and support manufacturing, testing, and verification from concept to delivery. Mentorship and customer interaction are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Five+ years of aerospace/defense/avionics experience preferred.
• Proficient in schematic capture and PCB layout using industry tools (Altium, PSPICE/LTSPICE).
• Experience with MIL-STD standards and EMI/EMC design.
• Familiarity with RS-422/RS-485 and MIL-STD-1553 protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead analog and digital circuit design aligned with requirements.
• Create and review electrical drawings, manufacturing requirements, and QA specs.
• Evaluate designs for functionality, manufacturability, cost, and quality.
• Lead test and verification across development lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers and engage with customers and suppliers.
