Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking a Chief Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership across electrical systems from concept to deployment, defining architectures, standards, and mentoring engineers. The role emphasizes risk management, design stewardship, and customer engagement in a growth-focused environment.

Located in Mukilteo, WA, the position oversees PCB, harness, and interconnect design, performs reviews and ensures compliance with aerospace/military specifications, IPC

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years technical experience with 3+ years leadership.
• Experience leading complex electrical efforts and system architectures.
• Proficiency with PCB design and harness/interconnect design.
• Knowledge of military specifications and IPC standards.
• DoD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain it.
• Experience with Altium and PSpice/LTspice.
• Strong communication, leadership, and customer relation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to Electrical Engineers across programs.
• Define and drive electrical architectures and interfaces.
• Oversee designs for feasibility, performance, safety, cost and compliance.
• Lead reviews and set direction on major decisions and issues.
• Establish electrical engineering standards and tooling.
• Oversee PCB, circuit, power, harness, and interconnect design.
• Assess risks and tradeoffs for electrical requirements.
• Guide resolution of cross-functional issues and integration testing.
