Job summary

Rocket Lab Robotics, based in Pasadena, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer I/II to drive hardware development for robotics programs. You will contribute from requirements through design, prototyping, testing and production, focusing on avionics hardware and motor control.

The role requires a strong background in electrical hardware design, FPGA/FPGA firmware, and analog signal chains, with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of electrical hardware design experience for level I, or 8+ years for level II.
  • Experience in PCBA design with FPGAs and motor control applications.
  • Experience with analog signal chains and SPICE-based analyses.
  • Proficiency in circuit analysis, board bring-up and debug.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end ownership of hardware for robotics and motor control.
  • Drive architecture decisions to advance control algorithms; work with FPGA and MC systems.
  • Develop PCBA requirements and perform design verification testing and system integration testing.
  • Own environmental tests including EMI/EMC, TVAC, Shock, Vibe, etc.
  • Production manufacturing support and failure analysis as needed.
