Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Experience designing, developing, building, testing, and troubleshooting electrical hardware or subsystems.
• Experience with schematic design, PCB development, and component selection.
• Proficiency with electrical design tools; Altium Designer preferred.
• Hands-on prototyping and bench testing with lab equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Experience translating requirements into electrical designs, test plans and verification activities.
• Experience with electromechanical systems, robotics, or complex integrated products.
• Experience in regulated medical devices, design controls, risk management, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support electrical components and subsystems for Mako robotic end effectors.
• Translate product requirements into electrical specifications and solutions.
• Perform schematic design, PCB development, and hardware integration.
• Build prototypes, conduct bench testing, and validate electrical performance.
• Troubleshoot hardware and system-level issues; perform root cause analysis.
• Integrate electrical hardware with mechanical, software, and other components.
• Evaluate existing designs; support ongoing product development and changes.
• Conduct electrical testing, verification, and ensure safety and quality requirements.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation (schematics, specs, test procedures, reports).
• Collaborate with Systems, Mechanical, Software, Manufacturing, Quality, and others.
• Apply design controls and risk management per medical device regulations.
