Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Cincinnati, OH, to lead power distribution design for advanced facilities with a remote or hybrid work model. You will coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, drive design accuracy, and ensure conformance with codes and client requirements across complex industrial projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • PE license preferred.
  • 10+ years of electrical engineering design experience for buildings.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC).
  • Ability to perform power system studies (short circuit, load flow, protective coordination, arc flash).
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, Revit, AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu.

We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer (Remote or Hybrid) who is committed to working on Advanced Facilities/Life Sciences projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. Join us and you’ll have the chance to join a global team of engineers and designers delivering the world’s most state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. You’ll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. You’ll also provide on-site assistance during startup, coordinate work activities with other staff members and the various discipline leads. You’ll oversee designer work, provide team technical leadership, perform quality reviews of design packages, and assist directly with the more complex portions of the design process. You’ll also interact directly with the client, owner, and contractors to assist construction on site. You and the other members of your team will work closely with client owners in a fast paced, dynamic environment to establish design requirements and produce construction documents.

Your responsibilities will include

Here’s what you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited program
  • PE, Professional Engineer license preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering design of building
  • Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC)
  • Ability to perform power system studies including short circuit, load flow, protective coordination, and arc flash studies
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff members
  • Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered
  • Must also be familiar with Microsoft Office Packages (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio), Smartplant, Revit, AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu.
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Life Science and/or advanced manufacturing facility electrical design experience
  • Working knowledge of Revit or BIM software
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
  • Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi‑disciplinary teams

The base salary range for this position is $132,900.00 to $215,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
