Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC through WECTEC Staffing Services is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a remote, 1-year contract focused on BESS engineering and digital tools. You will support utility-scale projects, automate workflows, and develop Python-based tools with AI-assisted platforms.

You will translate engineering processes into practical software solutions and help scale workflows while upholding safety and technical rigor. Competitive hourly pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in power/energy/industrial projects.
• Understanding of power system fundamentals: one-line diagrams, protection and controls, grounding, arc flash, interconnection.
• Ability to validate software-generated results.

Responsibilities

• Review one-line diagrams, equipment specifications, electrical calculations, design drawings, and technical studies for accuracy, completeness, and constructability for utility-scale BESS and other inverter-based resource projects.
• Support engineering activities involving batteries, power conversion systems and inverters, transformers, switchgear, cables, grounding, protection, controls, and auxiliary power systems, and support their technical evaluation.
• Identify repetitive, manual, or inconsistent engineering workflows that can be improved through automation or internal software tools.
• Develop and maintain engineering applications, calculation tools, data-validation utilities, dashboards, and workflow automation using AI assisted developed tools using open sourced and common software languages
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Devin, or similar platforms to accelerate software development, testing, documentation, and maintenance.
• Help develop responsible practices for the use of AI in engineering workflows, including technical validation, data handling, cybersecurity, and human review.
