Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) assigned to the Facilities - Engineering & Design Team, in support of the United States Antarctic Program. The Electrical Engineer will execute electrical designs ranging from small, single year projects to multi-year government projects in extreme winter environments for three (3) Antarctic stations plus additional field camps.

This is a remote role but deployment to Antarctica may be necessary.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
Professional PE licensure preferred; 8+ years experience.
US citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
Experience with electrical engineering principles, designs, and calculations.
Knowledge of instrumentation controls and automation.
Familiarity with ETAP or SKM hazard analyses.
Strong communication skills for management and teams.

Responsibilities

Lead the design of MV/LV power distribution systems, including power generation, microgrids, and renewable energy integration.
Serve as Engineer of Record (PE) for electrical submittals and reviews.
Coordinate with engineering and program teams to ensure quality drawings and packages.
Develop electrical sizing calculations for systems and equipment.
Define specifications for electrical equipment to meet performance criteria.
Prepare detailed design drawings including single line diagrams and panel schedules.
