Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) assigned to the Facilities - Engineering & Design Team, in support of the United States Antarctic Program. The Electrical Engineer will execute electrical designs ranging from small, single year projects to multi-year government projects in extreme winter environments for three (3) Antarctic stations plus additional field camps.

This is a remote role but deployment to Antarctica may be necessary.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional PE licensure preferred; 8+ years experience.
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
  • Experience with electrical engineering principles, designs, and calculations.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation controls and automation.
  • Familiarity with ETAP or SKM hazard analyses.
  • Strong communication skills for management and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of MV/LV power distribution systems, including power generation, microgrids, and renewable energy integration.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record (PE) for electrical submittals and reviews.
  • Coordinate with engineering and program teams to ensure quality drawings and packages.
  • Develop electrical sizing calculations for systems and equipment.
  • Define specifications for electrical equipment to meet performance criteria.
  • Prepare detailed design drawings including single line diagrams and panel schedules.
