Job summary

NEXHR in Houston is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to provide technical engineering and reliability support across a fleet of industrial gas facilities, including ASU, CO₂, H₂ and He plants. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 7–10 years of electrical engineering experience in industrial/process plants.
• Experience with HV/MV/LV systems, substations, switchgear, transformers, motors and distribution equipment.
• Knowledge of short-circuit analysis, relay protection/coordination, power quality, motor starting, hazardous areas and lightning protection.
• Familiar with NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 70E and NETA standards.
• Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder management in a matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering and troubleshooting support across industrial gas plants.
• Support 138kV substations, HV/MV/LV switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, UPS/battery systems, DCS/PLC controls and large motors up to 35,000 HP.
• Develop electrical maintenance scopes, budgets and execution strategies.
• Support condition-based monitoring, reliability programs and electrical equipment assessments.
• Review and approve electrical modifications through the EMOC process.
• Develop and review electrical PMs, work instructions and maintenance procedures.
• Support major maintenance, plant upgrades, commissioning, startups and troubleshooting.
• Provide electrical engineering support for major capital and re-life projects.
• Manage and assess electrical contractors and service providers.
• Promote electrical safety and provide training in NFPA 70E and related standards.

Required Experience

• Strong experience with HV/MV/LV electrical systems, substations, switchgear, transformers, motors and distribution equipment.
• Knowledge of short-circuit analysis, relay protection/coordination, power quality, motor starting, hazardous areas and lightning protection.
• Working knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 70E and NETA standards.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to influence and deliver results within a matrix organization.
