Job summary

Cannon Corp in Ventura is seeking an Electrical Principal Engineer to lead growth and delivery of electrical engineering solutions across water, energy, and infrastructure markets. This senior role blends technical leadership with strategic client engagement and hands-on project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• California PE license required.
• 10+ years power systems engineering experience.
• Must have low and medium voltage design experience.
• Experience with NEC and NFPA.
• Experience with SKM and/or ETAP.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills.
• Ability to travel to client sites across Central and Southern California.
• Electrical infrastructure design per utility standards (PG&E QAD/SCE) a plus.
• Project management experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of electrical designs, plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Perform and review electrical calculations and studies for LV/MV projects.
• Collaborate with CAD technicians and design engineers for high-quality documents.
• Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure integrated delivery.
• Lead project delivery and manage scope, schedule, and budget.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure QA/QC on deliverables.
• Develop proposals, scopes, fee estimates, and client proposals.
• Foster long-term client relationships and identify new opportunities.
