Job summary

Cannon Corp. in Ventura, CA, is seeking an Electrical Principal Engineer to lead electrical design and delivery for diverse markets, including water, energy, and infrastructure. This senior role blends technical leadership with client engagement and hands-on project delivery.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in power systems, a California PE license, and experience with SKM/ETAP. Responsibilities include leading major design efforts, mentoring engineers, and driving business development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), preferably with power systems emphasis.
• California PE License required.
• 10+ years progressive experience in power systems engineering.
• Low and medium voltage design experience.
• Experience with SKM and/or ETAP electrical modeling and design software.
• Experience with NEC and NFPA codes and standards.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills.
• Ability to travel to client sites, utilities, and field locations in California.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and engineering efforts across multiple markets.
• Manage projects’ scope, schedule, and budget, addressing risks and changes.
• Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure integrated delivery.
• Develop proposals, scopes of work, and client relationships to drive business growth.
