Job summary

Onto Innovation seeks a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead the development of high‑precision electrical systems for metrology and inspection equipment. You will guide cross‑functional teams, drive design reviews, and ensure reliability, EMI/thermal performance, and manufacturability across complex platforms.

The role demands a strong systems mindset, hands‑on power management, motor control, and collaboration with mechanical, software, and manufacturing groups to deliver production‑ready

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of broad electrical engineering experience.
• Experience integrating motors, sensors, power systems, and mixed-signal components.
• Skilled with PCB design and simulation tools (Altium, OrCAD, SPICE, MATLAB).
• Hands-on with embedded systems, microcontrollers, or FPGAs.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, integration, and validation of electrical subsystems for metrology and inspection systems.
• Architect analog, digital, power electronics, motor/actuator control, and mixed-signal circuitry with emphasis on reliability and EMI/thermal performance.
• Guide PCB design, schematic oversight, layout optimization, and board bring-up for signal integrity and power distribution.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, systems, and manufacturing teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Mentor engineering teams, run design reviews, and drive cross-functional collaboration.
