Job summary

GovSG in Charleston, SC seeks a mid- to senior-level electrical engineer to support government customers with power system design, fabrication, testing and evaluation for the Tactical Integrated Data Ecosystem (TIDE). The role emphasizes end-to-end power generation, distribution and energy storage solutions for battery, solar and renewable applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • 6-10 years’ experience supporting DoD acquisitions in electrical engineering.
  • Experience designing and testing AC and DC power systems.
  • Experience with power conversion (AC/DC, DC/DC, inverters, rectifiers).
  • Hardware design, prototyping and lab validation.
  • Altium or equivalent PCB/circuit design experience.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and MS Projects.
  • Strong Python and MATLAB skills; ability to translate missions into designs.
  • Strong technical writing and briefing abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end power generation systems design including battery, solar, and alternative sources.
  • Define system requirements for power distribution and management.
  • Develop and execute test plans for validating performance and reliability.
  • Hands-on experience building and integrating hardware, PCBs, and embedded systems.
  • Lead design and construction of RF and sensing payload packages for modular buoys.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical system issues with strong analytical skills.
  • Define system interfaces and APIs for cross-application interactions.
  • Perform trade-off analyses on power, weight and related attributes.
  • Evaluate modularity and interoperability between platforms.
