Base pay range

Job Description

We seek a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Systems. The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain electrical systems and components, with a focus on power systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems and components, focusing on power systems
• Conduct research to determine optimal materials and methods
• Develop and maintain electrical systems to specifications
• Collaborate with engineers and professionals on design and implementation
• Provide technical support and guidance
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance
• Stay updated on new technologies
• Perform power system modelling and studies using PSS/E, PSLF, ETAP, ASPEN, PSCAD, including:
• Power flow, transient and dynamic analysis, short circuit, harmonic analysis, insulation coordination, transmission planning, load and generation interconnection, integration of renewables, distribution network optimization
• Prepare study reports, including scope understanding, RFIs, technical solutions, and client presentations
• Manage project scope, time, and budget
• Assist in technical proposal development and business development activities
• Provide technical support, guidance, and training to team members

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field
• PE license required
• Minimum 7 years in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems
• Expertise in power system studies, power flow, and dynamic stability studies
• Experience with electrical design software and standards
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
• Knowledge of North American power standards (NERC TPL)
• Experience with AutoCAD, AVEVA E3D, Python, ETAP, ASPEN, EMTP-RV, DIgSILENT, PSCAD, Revit, Bluebeam
