Senior Electrical Engineer-Power Group-Boston-Hybrid

Join Vanderweil Engineers as a Senior Electrical Engineer in our Power Group located in Boston, MA. This role offers a hybrid work environment and an opportunity to work on medium voltage, power generation, and heavy industrial projects.

Role Responsibilities

• Design campus electrical grids for industrial manufacturing sites, utility providers, and educational institutions.
• Develop designs for power generation facilities, utility grid interconnections, switchgear, substations, generators, and power distribution networks.
• Lead electrical design projects for power engineering, cogeneration plants, chiller plants, and large industrial projects.
• Lead technical teams, provide mentorship, and ensure project deliverables meet quality standards.
• Review designs for compliance with codes and standards, and support project scheduling and technical issue resolution.

Essential Skills & Requirements

• Proficiency in IEEE, IBC, NESC, NEC codes, and industry software such as Excel, Revit, SKM, AGI 32, and AMPCALC.
• Experience with arc-flash, short circuit, grounding, relay settings, and other electrical calculations using SKM, ETAP, CYME, and AGI lighting software.
• Strong analytical, leadership, communication skills, and minimum of 10 years' experience in power generation and industrial projects, including 7+ years in medium voltage design.
• PE license highly preferred; LEED accreditation advantageous.
