Every Vanderweil Engineers team member brings something unique to the table. Here is what we are looking for with this role:

• Responsible for detailed design of campus electrical grids serving industrial manufacturing sites, district utility providers, and college/university electrical distribution systems.
• Design of power facilities, utility grid interconnections, switchgear and substations, generators, and power distribution networks.
• Execute electrical designs and deliverables for power engineering, cogeneration power plants, chiller plants, and large industrial projects.
• Able to lead technical teams and deliver designs for various clients. Provide support to assigned staff on technical and administrative issues.
• Maintain understanding of project schedules, statuses, and technical issues. Review all designs prior to client submission with supervisor and Department Head.
• Maintain strong knowledge of all relevant Codes and Standards and ensure compliance in all team activities.
• Continuously improve the team’s deliverables quality, communication, attitude, and efficiency.

Essential Skills & Requirements:

• Knowledge of IEEE, IBC, NESC, and NEC electrical codes, along with industry products and design solutions. Proficiency in Excel, Revit, SKM, AGI 32, and AMPCALC 4 is required.
• Ability to perform arc-flash, short circuit, grounding, relay settings, time-current curves, drop calculations, voltage drop calculations, and lighting power density analyses using SKM, ETAP, CYME, and AGI lighting software.
• Strong analytical abilities and proven leadership experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in power and heavy industrial projects, with at least 7 years’ experience in medium voltage (5kV/15kV) and low voltage (480V) design of industrial and process plants.
• PE license highly preferred; LEED accreditation is a plus.
