Job summary

Hitachi Energy in the United States is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to develop and apply engineering knowledge to support transformer power components and grid-related challenges. This role involves hands-on engineering tasks and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

Under limited direction, you will design, analyze, and troubleshoot electrical systems, lead project teams, and work with cross-functional groups to improve product performance while ensuring cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical engineering and 5–7+ years of experience.
• Strong understanding of dielectrics, thermal behavior, electrical stress, and mechanical strength of assemblies and components.
• Experience developing electromechanical products, especially power transformer components; this experience is highly desired but not mandatory.
• Prior experience in electrical component design, wiring schematics, configuration, manufacturing, testing, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and evaluate systems to create assembly drawings, schematics, and part drawings.
• Prepare specifications, proposals, BOMs, control schematics, and drawings based on customer specs and standards.
• Act as principal investigator or lead a group of engineers developing solutions and reports.
• Analyze new proposals, requirements, specifications, and products.
• Interact with internal and external customers to resolve technical issues and develop action plans.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product design and performance.
