Job summary

AVA Energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical technical aspects of gas turbine generator packages. You will own retrofits, upgrades and troubleshooting across control systems, generator excitation and auxiliary equipment, while guiding a team of engineers and designers.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years in power generation or industrial electrical design.
• Experience configuring and integrating control systems and protective circuits.
• Familiarity with IEEE, IEC, NEC and NFPA 70 standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN is preferred.
• OEM aftermarket/service experience is a bonus (SEL/GE Multilin/ABB relays).

Responsibilities

• Lead control system retrofits, panel and MCC upgrades, and excitation improvements.
• Develop and review wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, and I/O lists.
• Configure and integrate Woodward MicroNet, Allen-Bradley, Siemens and GE control systems.
• Support root-cause analysis, FATs, SATs and commissioning.
• Mentor junior engineers and support aftermarket bids.

AVA Energy is partnering with a leading play in the global power generation market to hire a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Engineering (Electrical Technical Section).

The role

You'll be the electrical technical lead for gas turbine generator packages already in the field. You'll own retrofits, upgrades and troubleshooting across control systems, generator excitation and auxiliary equipment. You'll also lead a team of engineers and designers, and act as the go-to electrical expert for customers, field service and proposal teams.

What you'll do

• Lead control system retrofits, panel and MCC upgrades, and excitation improvements.
• Develop and review drawing packages, including single-line diagrams, AC/DC breaker control schematics, wiring diagrams and I/O lists.
• Configure and integrate Woodward MicroNet, Allen-Bradley, Siemens and GE control systems.
• Support root-cause analysis, FATs, SATs and commissioning.
• Mentor junior engineers and support aftermarket bids.

What you'll bring

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, with 10+ years in power generation, OEM or industrial electrical design.
• Strong hands-on experience with Woodward MicroNet, Allen-Bradley PLCs, and AVR or excitation systems.
• The ability to design and interpret AC/DC breaker control and protection circuits.
• Knowledge of IEEE, IEC, NEC and NFPA 70 standards, and of AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar tools.
• Experience in an OEM aftermarket or service environment, or with SEL, GE Multilin or ABB relays, is a bonus.
