Job summary

Upwing Energy seeks an Electrical Engineer to own and optimize the electrical design of Subsurface Compressor Systems (SCS) and associated surface equipment. You’ll lead design, integration, build, test and validation activities for deployment systems, and troubleshoot power electronics and related infrastructure.

You will work with a team to maintain BOMs, drawings, and test procedures, while enabling field teams and production through hands-on guidance and documentation.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years of industrial experience; 3+ years in power electronics integration, motion control or turbomachinery.
• Hands-on setup, operation and troubleshooting of complex electrical systems.
• Power electronics troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Modbus and signal-level instrumentation preferred.
• Experience in digital, analog and power electronics circuit design a plus.
• Familiarity with motor controls a plus.
• Ability to use test equipment (oscilloscopes, data loggers, analyzers).
• Familiarity with high-power safety requirements.
• Knowledge of UL/CE approvals a plus.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimize electrical design of Subsurface Compressor Systems and surface equipment.
• Lead design, integration, build, test and validation of deployment systems.
• Document electrical system configurations and user guides.
• Develop test setups and procedures; interpret test data.
• Train production and field teams on assembly and connection processes.
• Lead troubleshooting on electrical systems; field service support may be required.
• Maintain BOM and electrical drawing packages for components and systems.
• Work with suppliers to optimize power electronics and motor designs.
• Develop and champion electrical safety best practices.
