Job summary

EXP is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer/Project Manager, PE (Buildings) in San Diego, CA. You will lead and mentor a team of engineers, ensure design quality, and manage electrical systems for diverse projects including healthcare and life sciences in a dynamic, employee-owned firm.

Ideal candidates hold a CA PE license, 7+ years of electrical design experience, and proficiency in Revit MEP. Travel locally and relocate to San Diego area may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of electrical design experience in Healthcare, Life Sciences, Research & Development, or Commercial/institutional building systems.
• Proficiency in Revit MEP.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in California.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineering and design staff, fostering growth in technical and professional development.
• Perform quality control reviews of electrical deliverables (drawings, RFIs, submittals).
• Represent EXP in client meetings, project coordination meetings, and site visits.
• Conduct field investigations, site verifications, and existing-condition assessments.
• Develop innovative solutions to engineering challenges while maintaining schedules and budgets.
• Prepare and execute electrical project work plans and advise clients on code compliance.
