Job summary

Bridgestone Americas, Inc. in Wilson, NC is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our tire manufacturing team at the Wilson plant.

You will lead electrical design, testing, and deployment of controls to keep production safe, efficient, and compliant with industry standards. You will develop hardware and software for control systems, collaborate with maintenance and operations, estimate project scope and budgets, and mentor others.

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience
BSEE degree required
Prior manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

Lead safety design process: risk assessment, mitigation, testing, and validation.
Oversee contractors to ensure workmanship quality and safety compliance.
Manage projects: scope, budget, justification, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet specifications and design requirements.
Develop hardware assemblies and wiring diagrams for control and data acquisition systems.
Develop control system software in PLC ladder logic and HMI.
Interface plant equipment via hardwired interfaces and industrial networks.
Apply closed-loop controls to dynamic systems.
Prepare BOMs and coordinate with vendors.
Coordinate with maintenance, production, and engineering to resolve electrical issues.
Ensure quality system processes and compliance to codes and standards.
