Job summary

CalPortland seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to optimize electrical, automation, and control systems across its manufacturing facilities. You will supervise engineers, develop criteria for plant expansions, and evaluate equipment proposals to support capital projects.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and at least ten years in cement or related manufacturing, with NEC knowledge and travel willingness. Competitive benefits and salary are offered.

Qualifications

• Ten years of electrical experience in cement, construction materials, or related manufacturing industries.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design, power distribution and systems.
• Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Willingness to travel to company facilities and meeting locations.
• Self-starter capable of working independently and cooperatively.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, and train engineers and plant personnel on electrical, automation, and control projects.
• Prepare electrical, control, and instrumentation criteria for plant additions and modifications.
• Prepare equipment and installation specifications for electrical projects and plant modifications.
• Evaluate equipment proposals and make recommendations for purchase or contracts.
• Prepare cost estimates for electrical portions of plant expansions and modifications.
• Design electrical power distribution, control, and instrumentation for plant additions and modifications.
• Review and approve electrical drawings and permits for new plants and expansions.
• Provide field inspections, coordination, and supervision for electrical work.
• Deliver project commissioning and start-up services.
