CalPortland is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to manage engineering projects from conception through commissioning, including cost control, scheduling, and safety. This salaried role is based in Vancouver, WA, and involves leading cross-functional teams and coordinating contractors to deliver multi-discipline scopes.

The candidate will review performance with plant operations and maintenance, prepare budgets, and provide design calculations and drawings for projects.

Competenze

• AutoCAD Earthwork proficient: draw plans, prepare plans, give presentations, volume takeoffs, cut and fill analysis.
• Must be an effective leader and strong communicator.
• Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Mansioni

• Assist in preparation and implementation of the capital budget including justifications, conceptual design, estimating, project definition and scope.
• Manage assigned projects including concept design, sketches or drawings layouts, and general arrangements.
• Supervise detailing, specify equipment and components, write specifications, solicit bids and coordinate installation and start-up.
• Instruct personnel on operation and maintenance of new equipment and control budgeted expenditures.
• Review designs produced by outside firms for compliance with standards and regulations.
• Provide design calculations and drawings for department/plant projects.
• Support plant in technical matters including equipment troubleshooting and scheduling.
• Support environmental department with permit applications and engineering docs.
• Daily interaction with department and plant personnel for project development.
• Write technical reports as required.
• Implement regulations such as OSHA, MSHA, UPC, UBC, NFPA, NEC.
