Halff has an immediate opening for a Senior Electrical Engineer, with their Texas PE License, to join our growing MEP Engineering team based out of one of our Texas offices (San Antonio, Austin, McAllen, Houston, The Woodlands, Richardson). The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering design in lighting and power distribution systems for Commercial, Industrial, and/or Institutional projects. What you will do:


  • Responsible for planning and preparing engineered contract documentation for assigned projects, working with or as an electrical Project Manager to meet deadlines, aiding in or providing engineering decisions, and collaborating with other engineers, architects, and/or owners.

  • Responsible for creating electrical project construction documents, plans, specifications, and design analyses for electrical/lighting system designs.

  • Responsible for on-site visits, as necessary, to collect existing condition information, attend meetings, respond to construction inquiries, and report on-site observations. Construction activities, when necessary, may include shop drawing reviews, responding to RFI's, and site visits to generate observation reports.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining client relationships.


What you will need:


  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree.

  • Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state of Texas.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering design in lighting and power distribution systems for Commercial, Industrial, and/or Institutional projects.

  • Knowledge of the NEC, IECC, ASHRAE 90.1, and associated NFPA standards.

  • High-level interpersonal relationship skills, proficiency in communication skills, and organization skills

  • Experience in Water/Wastewater, Federal, and/or Transportation-related projects is a plus.
