Job description

Responsibilities
  • The Senior Electrical Engineer – PCB & Circuit Design is a key technical contributor responsible for designing, developing, and supporting advanced electronic circuit board assemblies used in complex industrial applications.
  • This role applies strong expertise in mixed-signal, high-speed, microcontroller-based, power conversion, and RF circuit design to develop reliable, manufacturable solutions that meet customer, regulatory, and industry requirements. Working collaboratively across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and external partners, the Senior Electrical Project Engineer drives technical excellence through robust design practices, effective troubleshooting, design-for-manufacturability principles, and continuous improvement.
  • This Senior Electrical Engineer – PCB & Circuit Design position offers an opportunity to influence next-generation electronic products while serving as a trusted technical resource in circuit design, PCB technologies, EMC performance, and electronic manufacturing standards.
  • Design and develop electronic circuit board assemblies that meet defined electrical, mechanical, and environmental requirements, including compliance with applicable industry standards and third-party certifications (e.g., FCC, UL, CSA, CE).
  • Create and maintain circuit board layouts of moderate complexity, including high-speed and mixed-signal designs.
  • Establish and promote best practices in circuit board design, including Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Environment (DfE), and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Maintain and update electronic design documentation, including schematics, layouts, production drawings, and associated data packages.
  • Manage and maintain component libraries, including part numbers, footprints, and approved vendor lists.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing technical input and ensuring adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
  • Analyze and resolve component obsolescence and vendor change notifications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks.
  • Troubleshoot and debug electronic circuits and systems using standard laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and digital multimeters (DMMs).
  • Support production by identifying and resolving issues related to electronic circuit board assemblies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to investigate, document, and resolve technical issues.
Requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to clearly document methodologies and decision-making processes.
  • Experience designing high-speed circuits, including controlled impedance layouts for memory buses and microprocessors.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) performance to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Working knowledge of current PCB design and manufacturing technologies and processes.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards for electronic assemblies.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Environment (DfE) principles.
  • The Salary range for this position is $89,800.00-$114,100.00.The specific Salary rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
