Job summary

Johnson Outdoors in Mankato, Minnesota, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead complex electronic design from concept through production for consumer outdoor products.

You will develop innovative circuits, publish specs, and coordinate with manufacturing and suppliers to meet timelines and budget while ensuring quality. This onsite role offers strong collaboration with a passionate engineering team and access to outdoor recreation in the Minnesota region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of electrical design engineering experience in consumer products.
• Advanced knowledge of design, evaluation and testing of electronic/electrical circuits.
• Experience reading and drawing schematics.
• Understanding of the new product process, EVA financial modeling and timelines.
• Experience turning concepts into manufacturable designs.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Create innovative new product designs from concept to production.
• Develop and maintain project timelines and budgets.
• Prototype design experimentation and testing verification.
• Write specifications and create documentation and testing methods.
• Conduct feasibility evaluations and cost estimates.
• Troubleshoot electrical design issues during development.
• Produce project documentation and ECOs.
• Support suppliers and internal teams through development stages.
• Manage multiple projects from concept to completion.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
