Job summary

City of New York is seeking an Electrical Engineer in the Design & Project Management (D&PM) Unit to provide project management and design expertise for renovations of leased and city-owned spaces in support of agency missions.

The role requires a NYS Professional Engineer license and four years of full-time electrical engineering experience; a master's degree may substitute for one year of experience. The position aligns with NYC’s green initiatives and space optimization efforts.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time electrical engineering experience.
• New York State Professional Engineer license required.
• Master's degree in electrical engineering may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops and reviews site evaluations and scopes of work for relocations/renewals in leased spaces.
• Reviews contract documents and specs for construction/alterations based on lease terms and approved plans.
• Performs construction project management and develops deliverables for leased spaces.
• Maintains schedules and project information.
• Supervises staff in accordance with Asset Management procedures.
• Engineering design services for in-house projects.
• Review of bid submittals to ensure required engineering scope is included.
• Oversight of engineering-related change orders for coordination with estimators and PMs.
