Job summary

SAIC is seeking highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineers to support the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) for U.S. Navy carrier operations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in defense or aerospace.
  • Experience with complex power electronics and naval systems.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and aboard naval vessels.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design, analyze, optimize, and troubleshoot electrical components and systems for EMALS/AAG.
  • Assist with the development and review of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and system documentation.
  • Conduct engineering investigations to identify and resolve system issues, including repairs or technical recommendations for components.
  • Perform system testing, validation, and evaluation to ensure performance, quality, and safety standards.
  • Provide technical recommendations to address electrical challenges and improve reliability and safety.
  • Troubleshoot and develop procedures, including shipboard emergency calls or testing outside normal hours.
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports for stakeholders and review engineering change requests (REI/Waivers/Variances).
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Travel up to 5-30%, including internationally, aboard U.S. naval vessels and remote sites.
