JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.
Key Role Responsibilities - Core
- Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans and culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
- Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
- Learns how to develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating systems.
- Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and completes systems analysis for select projects.
- Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
- Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
- Assists in developing sequencing requirements and provides solutions to meet schedule requirements.
- Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and develop constructability review reports.
- Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met, and work is completed on time and with quality.
- Assists with shop drawing/submittal processes to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Supports the commissioning process, including developing pre-functional checklists, testing procedures, and conducting functional testing.
- Promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion, understanding JE Dunn's non-discrimination policy and ensuring its positive implementation.
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs more complex mechanical, electrical, and construction activities.
- Develops and reviews budgets, systems analysis, and value engineering suggestions.
- Coordinates scopes of work during bidding and develops scheduling inputs.
- Develops quality control programs and reviews design documents for quality issues.
- Prepares and verifies functional testing and commissioning documentation.
- Mentors less experienced team members and creates tools for process improvement.
- Supports diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to perform work accurately and timely.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic understanding of construction management tools.
- Ability to read and understand plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate within teams.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering or related field (Required).
- Equivalent relevant experience considered.
- 5+ years of construction or engineering experience preferred.
Working Environment
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
