JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work for innovative clients on large projects such as Data Centers and Semiconductors. As part of this team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse industry professionals.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through personal actions and mentoring.
  • Completes entry-level mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  • Learns to develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated systems.
  • Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and completes systems analysis for projects.
  • Learns to develop scopes of work for mechanical and electrical systems for the bid process.
  • Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
  • Supports project scheduling and sequencing of systems to meet deadlines.
  • Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and develop constructability review reports.
  • Performs job inspections to ensure specifications and quality standards are met.
  • Assists with shop drawing and submittal processes in line with contract documents.
  • Supports the commissioning process, including developing checklists and testing procedures.
  • Promotes diversity and inclusion, ensuring adherence to JE Dunn's non-discrimination policies.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Performs more complex mechanical, electrical, and construction activities.
  • Develops detailed estimates and reviews design options, recommending best solutions and value engineering.
  • Coordinates scopes of work during bidding and project execution.
  • Develops sequencing and scheduling solutions to meet project timelines.
  • Reviews design documents for quality issues and develops quality control programs.
  • Prepares and verifies functional testing and commissioning documentation.
  • Mentors less experienced team members and creates tools for process improvement.
  • Continues to support diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Accurate and timely work performance.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and understanding of plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of construction management methods and ability to collaborate effectively.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering, or related field required; relevant experience considered as substitute.
  • Minimum 5 years of construction or engineering experience preferred.
Working Environment & Benefits
  • Valid driver's license required.
