Job summary

kW Mission Critical Engineering, a WSP company, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Troy, NY office. You will design complex electrical systems, including generator plants, medium voltage distribution, UPS, lighting, and fire alarm, supporting mission critical/data center projects.

You will lead electrical design efforts, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multi‑discipline teams and clients to develop drawings and specifications for construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with electrical building systems emphasis.
• 5+ years designing electrical systems for high-performing commercial, industrial, or mission‑critical buildings.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, eTap or Cyme.
• Knowledge of building, electrical and energy codes.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for buildings including lighting, receptacles, essential and critical infrastructure.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and collaborate in multi‑discipline teams.
• Prepare drawings and specifications for architects, contractors and owners.
• Attend client meetings and coordinate with vendors and project staff.
• Perform short circuit, coordination and arc‑flash calculations and construction administration.
