Job summary

Stanley Consultants is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer based in Des Moines, IA, with a background in power generation, relay settings, plant facilities design, and microgrid clients. The role is hybrid, with responsibilities spanning design, analysis, and coordination across teams.

You will design power systems, prepare schematics and specs, perform calculations, and manage budgets and schedules while engaging with vendors and clients to deliver robust electrical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
• 8+ years of electrical design experience.
• Proficiency with ETAP, SKM, or similar software.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Self-motivated and adaptable to changing client needs.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout power plant site, microgrids, and distribution systems.
• Create schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Prepare reports, code determinations, and design computations.
• Coordinate technical efforts within discipline areas.
• Manage design budgets and schedules.
• Develop engineering drawings and specifications.
• Perform and review engineering calculations.
• Size, select, and specify electrical equipment; coordinate with vendors.
• Conduct project field site visits.
