Job summary

RS&H in Chicago seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Buildings team. Hybrid work environment with collaboration across architects and engineers to deliver complex building projects.

You will lead electrical design, coordinate documents, engage clients, mentor staff, and contribute to proposals and business development. A PE license and ABET degree are required, with 7+ years in buildings electrical engineering.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• PE license in good standing required.
• 7+ years of electrical engineering experience in buildings.
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
• Experience producing construction documents and using industry software.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor junior staff.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support electrical design and coordination from planning through construction.
• Develop engineering reports, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical and structural engineers, and PMs.
• Engage with clients to understand goals and deliver technical solutions.
• Support proposals, presentations, and business development efforts.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews, field observations, and construction administration.
• Review junior staff work and mentor developing engineers and designers.
• Serve as technical resource and project lead on moderate to large-scale projects.
• Assist with scopes, schedules, staffing, and budget oversight.
