Qualifications

• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in North Carolina is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in MEP building systems design for education, municipal, K-12, and/or commercial facilities.
• Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD is required.
• Strong communication, coordination, and analytical skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to develop electrical system designs from concept through construction.
• Design lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems that meet project requirements and codes.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and calculations in Revit or AutoCAD.
• Perform load calculations, circuiting, panel schedules, and equipment sizing.
• Conduct field investigations, site observations, and existing system assessments.
• Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and provide construction administration support.
• Participate in interdisciplinary coordination and quality control reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Assist in mentoring junior staff and sharing technical expertise across the team.
