Job summary

DeBra-Kuempel seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide advanced engineering knowledge and client-focused electrical system solutions. You will collaborate with PMs, estimators, field staff, and other disciplines on power distribution, building automation, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage upgrades.

The role requires mentoring less-experienced engineers and leading technical efforts on diverse projects from Columbus. On-site presence in Columbus with up to 40% travel is expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• P.E. licensure in OH, KY, IN or reciprocity.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu, Excel, Word & other Microsoft Office products.
• Experience performing or supporting arc flash studies and infrared thermography inspections.
• General knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
• Experience using Computer Aided Design (C.A.D.) programs like Revit, AutoCAD.
• Ability to travel up to 40% locally, as well as consistent on-site support in the Columbus office.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate information and analyze problems to develop effective solutions.
• Serve as an SME technical resource for electrical design, retrofits, repairs, and replacements.
• Conduct field audits of electrical equipment to identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare engineered drawings, equipment selections and reports in a timely manner.
• Maintain relationships with existing customers and develop new relationships.
• Collaborate with project managers, estimators, superintendents, and other disciplines.
• Develop relationships with customer organizations such as facility managers and purchasing agents.
• Determine client needs and develop engineered solutions.
• Maintain current knowledge of products, codes, and design criteria (Continuing Education).
• Follow up with project managers on status of engineered work.
• Relay solutions to clients and internal managers with strong oral/written communication.
• Incorporate client feedback during and after project completion.
• Attend company meetings to discuss work, budgets, and plans.
