Boston Scientific has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Electrical Engineer focused on renal denervation within the Interventional Cardiology and Vascular Therapies division.

This on-site role is based in Maple Grove, MN and involves designing, testing and sustaining capital equipment with strict adherence to medical safety standards. The role requires 5+ years of electrical engineering experience (or 3+ with a Master’s) and strong knowledge of IEC 60601-1/2.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a similar discipline.
• 5+ years’ relevant electrical engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree.
• 3+ years’ relevant electrical engineering experience with a master’s degree.
• Experience with medical standards compliance, IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2.

Responsibilities

• Support the integration of renal denervation capital equipment, including design, development, compliance and end-of-life sustainment.
• Help define compliance strategies for IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, IEC 60601-2-62 and other applicable medical electrical safety standards.
• Perform compliance testing and author test protocols and reports.
• Create schematics, layouts, BOMs using Altium Designer and other design outputs.
• Simulate circuits using PSpice or similar software.
• Provide clear communication to stakeholders, including senior leadership, regarding project updates and risk management.
• Assist with creating and updating electrical lab equipment qualifications, test methods, protocols and reports.
• Research, develop, design and test electrical components, equipment, software systems and networks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
• Train and provide work direction to technicians and engineers.
• Solve engineering problems and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate, research and select components, tools and best practices.
• Maintain compliance with documented quality processes and procedures.
