The Ed Wallach Search Group seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design of an inductive power and data acquisition system for maritime applications, targeting high reliability in harsh environments. You will own analog/digital front-end design, power transfer, and communications interfaces while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience; Master’s degree with 3+ years; or PhD with relevant academic experience.
• Strong background in mixed-signal design, power electronics, and/or precision data acquisition systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in low-noise analog circuit design, including sensor interfaces and grounding.
• Experience designing high-efficiency power electronics, including DC/DC converters, magnetics, MOSFET/IGBTs, and amplifiers.
• Proficiency in mixed-signal PCB design and layout for noise-sensitive applications.
• Experience with microcontrollers, embedded processors, and digital protocols such as SPI, I2C, RS-422.
• Understanding EMI/EMC requirements and environmental conditions.
• Hands-on laboratory troubleshooting and validation of hardware performance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across disciplines and with customers.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Responsabilidades

• Lead architecture, design, development, and validation of low-noise data acquisition systems via inductive power and links.
• Design analog front-end circuitry with high-resolution ADC interfaces and noise reduction.
• Develop inductive power transfer systems including coils, drivers, and regulation.
• Design and validate digital communications over inductive interfaces (modulation, encoding, error correction).
• Own PCB development from schematic to layout with proper noise considerations.
• Integrate data acquisition, power, and communications in electromechanical assemblies for maritime applications.
• Perform system-level testing and optimization using lab instrumentation.
• Collaborate with embedded software to ensure firmware integration and fault management.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers; participate in reviews and prototypes.
• Produce documentation, test plans, analyses, and presentations for teams and customers.
• Support field testing and technology demonstrations with up to 10% travel.
