Job summary

American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Government Engineering Services seeks a Senior Engineer II to review ship electrical and automation system drawings and perform engineering analyses for US Navy, MARAD, MSC, and other agencies. This hybrid Spring, TX role includes in-office Tue–Thu and remote Mon/Fri.

The candidate must be a US citizen, able to obtain Secret clearance, and skilled in engineering reviews, reports, and cross-functional coordination across disciplines.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (M.S. may be preferred).
• 5–8 years in relevant military or government vessel experience and familiarity with ship electrical and automation systems.
• US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed engineering reviews of plans for compliance with ABS Rules, Regulations and contracts.
• Address moderately complex design issues across disciplines.
• Apply broad engineering knowledge across technical areas and generate precise reports.
• Prepare weekly reports and billing for work performed.
• Communicate workload status to team and clients to meet needs.
• Interface with flag administrations for technical interpretations.
