Job summary

Vard Marine Inc. seeks a senior electrical and control systems engineer to design and review concepts for ship systems, ensuring compliance with Classification Society rules and industry standards.

The role includes mentoring engineers, coordinating testing, and liaising with clients to present progress and results. You will contribute to complex projects, support business development with technical input, and guide teams through design reviews, FATs, and commissioning in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 10+ years post-graduation experience in industry preferred.
• Advanced MS Office, AutoCAD & technical writing abilities.
• Professional Engineer designation required in Canada, preferred in the US.
• Strong knowledge of Classification Society rules, IMO, SOLAS.

Responsibilities

• Design and review ship electrical and control system concepts and details.
• Review equipment and installation specifications.
• Conduct testing and commissioning procedures.
• Prepare documents for Classification Societies and respond to queries.
• Supervise engineers and designers; mentor and assign tasks.
• Lead project management duties within larger projects when needed.
• Liaise with clients and present reports in meetings.
• Provide technical support to business development and sales efforts.
• Lead cross-functional groups and ensure budgets and deadlines are met.
