Job summary

Henderson Engineers, Inc. in Nashville, TN, seeks an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead complex electrical design efforts across large-scale projects.

You will mentor teams, oversee quality, and drive technical strategy within our Electrical Services practice. We value ownership through our ESOP culture, and you’ll collaborate with industry leaders on mission-critical, higher education, healthcare, sports, and commercial facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required for Engineer of Record roles.
• Additional technical certifications (e.g., RCDD, NICET, CPD, LEED, WELL) highly preferred.
• Advanced to expert proficiency in electrical engineering design, applicable codes and standards, Revit, Bluebeam, and construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design from concept through completion for complex or large-scale projects.
• Direct or oversee design documents, system layouts, drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Develop solutions to advanced and highly complex engineering problems with technical guidance.
• Mentor and coach across teams and practices.
• Lead staffing recommendations, training initiatives, and technical strategy development.
• Provide quality oversight including final quality reviews to ensure standards compliance.
• Communicate with clients, resolve conflicts, and respond to design challenges.
• Lead or support strategic business development and maintain client relationships.
• Serve as Engineer of Record when assigned, ensuring technical accuracy and professional standards.
