Job summary

GBA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for its Life Sciences team in Lenexa, KS or Broomfield, CO. You will lead electrical design for pharmaceutical and biotech facilities, ensuring high-quality, compliant solutions that support patient care and manufacturing excellence.

The role requires 10+ years of experience, ABET-accredited degree, and advanced skills in Revit, AutoCAD, SKM PowerTools and ETAP. On-site work with travel 10–15% and a strong focus on collaboration and mentorship.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years in electrical engineering for pharma/biotech/life sciences facilities.
• Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD and electrical analysis tools (SKM ETAP).
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70 and NFPA 99 codes.
• Experience with UPS and emergency power systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical construction drawings for cleanrooms, manufacturing suites, and labs.
• Design power distribution for critical manufacturing equipment.
• Engineer lighting and emergency egress systems for regulated facilities.
• Perform load calculations and power system analyses; coordinate arc flash studies.
• Coordinate designs with architecture, structural and other engineering teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers; lead project management activities.
