Job summary

GBA in Broomfield, CO is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our Life Sciences division. You will design electrical systems for manufacturing and research facilities, develop calculations, layouts, and construction documents, and collaborate with architects, structural, mechanical, and automation engineers.

The role emphasizes compliance with NEC/NFPA and pharma industry best practices, with opportunities to travel 10-20%, support design reviews, and mentor

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• Proficiency in REVIT; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
• Experience with electrical system design for manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with electrical analysis software (SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or similar).
• Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, and local codes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to travel occasionally (10-20%).
• PE license preferred but not required.
• Life Sciences industry experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical design calculations, layouts, and construction documents.
• Produce technical query documents for design clarification.
• Support engineering studies and facility assessments.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, mechanical, process, and automation engineers.
• Design electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, UPS, and security integration.
• Participate in internal design reviews and vendor coordination.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for electrical systems and equipment.
• Stay current with electrical codes, standards, and pharmaceutical industry best practices.
