Job summary

PBS Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead design projects across power, lighting and low-voltage systems.

You will mentor junior staff and collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to deliver innovative solutions. The candidate should bring extensive experience, strong communication, and a hands-on approach to project management, documentation, and on-site support.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of experience in electrical design or related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborative work.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making capabilities.
• Strong organizational skills and eagerness to learn.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and electrical design tools such as SKM, AGi32, Visual Energy Pro and ETAP.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems for various projects.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and load calculations using CAD and BIM platforms.
• Perform lighting calculations, short-circuit analysis, and voltage drop studies.
• Ensure NEC, Title 24, NFPA and local codes compliance.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, owners and other disciplines.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
• Review and approve construction documents including calculations and submittals.
• Conduct field surveys and site inspections to verify conditions and support construction administration.
