Job summary

Powell Industries is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead projects from concept to completion. You will design Low and Medium Voltage switchgear and control solutions, draft wiring diagrams, and ensure conformance to budgets and schedules while guiding teams and interfacing with clients.

The role requires a bachelor’s in electrical engineering and 4–8 years of relevant experience, with strong AutoCAD drafting and knowledge of 480V–38kV systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 4–8 years of engineering experience.
• Advanced drafting/ACAD skills are required.
• Proficient in electrical SWGR design and control schemes.
• Proficient understanding of power systems and relay applications.

Responsibilities

• Independently complete standard projects to match client specifications and requirements.
• Draft electrical construction drawings using AutoCAD with in-house teams.
• Engineer 480V through 5kV Motor Control and 480V through 38kV Switchgear.
• Interpret project write-ups, client specs, drawings, and correspondence.
• Create and validate Bills of Materials for client submittal and approval.
• Perform design reviews before manufacturing handoff.
• Mentor junior engineers in the team.
• Provide technical support in client meetings.
