5BY5 Engineers in Kansas City is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead end-to-end electrical design for complex building system projects. You will guide MEP strategies, oversee design standards, and coordinate with architecture and structures teams across multiple market sectors.

The ideal candidate brings 8–10+ years in MEP, PE licensure, and strong skills in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM workflows. This role offers hybrid work with engagement in business development and client relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineering (PE) License required.
• Minimum 8–10+ years of progressive experience in MEP system engineering.
• Proven track record leading engineering projects from conceptualization through construction and commissioning.
• Experience with various building types and sectors (commercial, healthcare, industrial, residential).
• Advanced design software proficiency (AutoCAD, Revit); BIM workflows and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and strategize in MEP system design, driving conceptualization and feasibility analyses.
• Establish design standards and ensure consistency across projects.
• Own electrical system design strategy for major projects and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Present and defend complex designs to clients and stakeholders with confidence.
• Mentor teams, review calculations, and oversee construction documents for accuracy.
• Contribute to business development and client presentations.
