Job summary

Advanced Laser Systems Technology (ALST), part of Intelligent Manufacturing Solutions (IMS), seeks a Lead, Electrical Engineer in Orlando, FL to drive circuit card assembly and digital hardware development for advanced laser systems.

The role requires deep PCB/CCA, FPGA/VHDL, and DoD-grade experience, with on-site work, travel, and US clearance eligibility. Collaboration with engineers and production teams is essential for successful product development and transition to manufacturing.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required due to government contract.
• Ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
• Strong communication across diverse teams and with customers.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical issues and resolve problems.
• Hands-on experience with circuit boards including soldering and debugging.
• Knowledge of Military Specifications/Standards.
• Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, pulse generators).
• Ability to present technical results to customers and management.

Responsibilities

• PCB/CCA development including stackup, schematic capture, placement, routing, signal integrity analysis.
• Hardware development: subsystem architecture, digital hardware, wiring diagrams.
• Firmware development: FPGA architecture, VHDL, test benches, timing analysis.
• Test and debug firmware and hardware designs.
• Component selection to minimize size and power draw while maximizing reliability.
• Power, stress, tolerances, and reliability analysis.
• Develop and deliver technical presentations to customers and internal management.
• Supervise design certification tests and document results.
• Troubleshoot failures and investigate root causes in system applications.
• Prioritize projects and maintain quality standards.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of experience

Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years experience

US Citizenship
