Job summary

DLR Group in Chicago seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer focused on Justice + Civic projects. You will lead multidisciplinary design teams, produce high-quality construction documents, and manage schedules to meet deliverables.

You will drive business development, nurture client relationships, and mentor engineers while aligning with budget and quality standards across multiple regions. Join our integrated design process and help elevate the built environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
• PE license holder.
• 15+ years of engineering experience in building systems for Justice + Civic.
• Knowledge of fire/smoke control systems and coordination with modeling consultants.
• Lighting systems knowledge for justice facilities, including correctional facilities.
• Security requirements of justice facilities and integration with electrical systems.
• Strong communication, time management, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple projects and staff across regions, ensuring design criteria are understood and applied.
• Assure quality of design through multiple review touch points.
• Manage project execution to align with budget, schedule, and scope; maintain client expectations.
• Track milestones, deliverables, and status reports.
• Coordinate meetings with staff, clients, vendors, and consultants.
• Contribute to RFP responses and client interviews for business development.
• Lead design on significant projects and collaborate with architects and other engineers.
• Provide technical reviews of interdisciplinary teams before issuance.
• Represent DLR Group in meetings with owners, clients, and suppliers.
