Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer for our Atlanta, Georgia office to provide high-level technical guidance across utility, industrial, and commercial projects. You will lead the design of electrical power, emergency power, fire alarm, and life-safety systems, and manage cross-functional teams to deliver projects that meet safety and code requirements.

The role requires a PE license and 7+ years’ experience; proficiency in Revit, SKM/EasyPower/ETAP, and AGI32 is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering.
Professional engineering license required.
7+ years of post-education experience designing electrical systems in industrial/pharma, labs, commercial, healthcare, or similar facilities.

Responsibilities

Develop drawings and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors and owners.
Manage cross-functional engineering teams including budgets, hours, expenses, permits, construction documents and memos.
Coordinate design activities with multi-discipline team members.
Design primary electrical power and emergency power systems.
Design fire alarm and life safety systems and lighting control systems.
Perform electrical load, short-circuit and voltage drop calculations.
Conduct construction administration and participate in client/stakeholder meetings.
Mentor younger engineers and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
